In April 2021, Boost Mobile Boss (and racing fan) Peter Adderton seemingly light heartedly floated the idea of forming a wildcard entry with Erebus Motorsport to compete at Bathurst featuring an all Kiwi driver lineup of 4x Bathurst 1000 winner Greg Murphy and young gun Richie Stanaway. It wasn’t long before the idea became very serious and an all out effort to get the pair racing at Bathurst ensued which included an incredible livery reveal featuring a stylised Kiwi bird down the doors with the entry planned to be raced under Murph’s old number, #51. A matching sister livery was also created as part of the overall plan for the Boost Mobile Racing #99 entry of Australian pairing Brodie Kostecki and David Russell which featured a similarly styled kangaroo down the doors (and ultimately finished on the podium).
